Everything you need to know about Tiger Wests Little Athletics Centre.

What, When, Where?

Tiger Wests Little Athletics runs a modified athletics competition for children aged from 4 to 16 years. The emphasis is on “Family, Fun & Fitness”. Competitions run every Friday evening at 6:30PM from September to March at the Wyatt Park Athletics Oval in Auburn/Lidcombe.

What time does it start and finish?

All athletes arrive by 6:15pm for a 6:30pm start. Younger age groups finish around 7:30pm, and older age groups between 8:00pm and 9:00pm.

What events do the children do?

All athletes compete in various running races, jumps and throws events. The distances, types of implements etc are modified and change as the athletes become older. Our athletes typically compete in 4-6 events every week.

How do we join?

Registrations for the 2024/25 season are done through the Little Athletics NSW web site. Please refer to our Registration Guide

How much does it cost?

Fees for the 2024/25 season covering Friday competition nights from September to March are $150 for U6-U17 and $100 for Tiny Tots. Registration fees include insurance, cost of entry fees to most LANSW championships, awards and trophies, coaching and equipment.

Can we have a trial before joining?

Yes, please come and visit us at the track on Friday Night.

Do you have training sessions?

Training for certain age groups to be available during the week - TBC dependent on numbers.

What should we bring?

Athletes need to wear our Tiger Wests uniforms with their Little Athletics numbers attached. Athletes must wear shoes (barefeet are not permitted) and a jacket or long pants in cooler weather. Don't forget your water bottle, hat and sunscreen!

Where do we get our uniforms?

Our Centre uniform is a black and white trim singlet which can be purchased for $35 on Fridays. Athletes can wear their own suitable black shorts.

Where do we put our bib number and patches?

The registration number is to be sewn onto the front of the Centre singlet, with sponsor’s logo and red border fully visible. The Coles patch must be sewn onto the front right side of the singlet, above the registration number. The Age Group Number patch must be sewn onto the front left side of the singlet, above the registration number.

What if it rains?

We will post in our Whatsapp announcements channel if there is a cancellation due to wet weather. Please also like our Facebook page for updates on the day of competition.

Do parents have to stay?

Yes, all parents are required each Friday to assist with the running of the events. Parents generally accompany the athletes around the field while they compete and help out where required. A parent must remain at all times in case of injury or cancellation due to wet weather.

Do you keep track of results?

Yes, results for all events are recorded in ResultsHQ and used to calculate our end of season awards winners.
