TIGER WESTS LITTLE ATHLETICS SEASON INFORMATION
We will be registering for our upcoming 2009/10 season on Friday 21st and 28th of August 2009 from 6pm till 7.30pm at the Wyatt Park Clubhouse. You will need to bring with you, proof of age for the child. This may be either a birth certificate or passport.
The fees for Tiny Tots to U/6's are $50.00. If the child turns 7 after September the fees will be $90.00. This price is for the entire season, September through to March.
You will also need to purchase a club uniform, club singlets. The children wear black shorts with their club singlet. These are also available for sale.
Our first week of competition will be Friday 4th of September 2009; the program will begin promptly at 6pm.
The children do a wide range of track and field events each night, in between 5 and 6 events. The track events are 50m, 70m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, and 1500m. Field events are, long jump, shot put, discus, high jump for 9 yrs and up, triple jump for 12 yrs and up and javelin for 13yrs and up.
We have a 3 week rotating program, including most of these events. Each week’s program is written for each individual age group. Under 6's and our Tiny Tots also do some novelty games each week.
Our club relies heavily on parent/guardian participation and assistance to run the program for the kids each week. These are not hard jobs, once you know what you are doing, eg- raking a sand pit, retrieving a shot put or recording some results. Every little bit helps.
An adult MUST be in attendance with each child on a Friday night.
We also run a BBQ each week, so if you don't get time for dinner before you come down, we have sausage sandwiches, egg and bacon rolls as well as drinks on sale. All proceeds form the BBQ go towards new equipment for the kids.
